Manuscripts pertaining to research on health of women and children only are acceptable. It is expected that the work is original and each of the authors has made a substantial and significant contribution to the work submitted. The authors will have the sole responsibility for the authenticity of the work. The manuscript should NOT have been published or submitted elsewhere. The articles are subject to peer review and editorial revision. By submitting the article for publication the authors would deemed to have transferred the copy rights to the Indian Journal of Maternal and Child Health on final publication which is subject to terms and conditions. (A) Original Articles Manuscripts are to be submitted on line to editor@ijmch.org. Kindly submit as Microsoft WORD 2003® document. The total length should not exceed 2000 words. The manuscript should be divided in the following sections: Title, Authors, Institutional affiliation, Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Materials an methods, Observations, Discussion, Conclusions and References. The page size should be A 4 with default margins, in single space and the font should be Calibri size 12 unless indicated otherwise. Title: It should be in title case, font size 14 and bold. Authors: Surname and initials, bold. Institutional affiliation: Plain text. Abstract: It should be in 150 words and sub divided into research questions, settings, study design, participants, methodology, and results. Key words Maximum six, bold and italics. Text: It should be divided as above. The references should be numbered by Arabic numerals in superscipt, in parentheses, chronologically and should appear in the reference section in the same order. The tables should be minimal in number simple and of manageable size. They should be numbered by Roman numerals and captioned in a uniform style. All illustrations should be in word 2003 format. References: These should be cited in Vancouver
style and citations like op cit, ibid should be used. The authors are responsible for the authenticity of the references. NOTE: While articles based on thesis are acceptable; authors must refrain from “cutting and pasting”. The Contributors are advised to peruse the articles published on the website and format their contributions accordingly.
(B) Review Articles: Only by Invitation. (C) Case Reports: These are brief descriptions of a previously unpublished disease process, a distinctive unreported manifestation or treatment of a known disease condition, a unique unreported complication of treatment, a case that formulates new hypotheses or helps realize possible patho physiological processes (approx. 1000 to 1200 words). These may be supported by one relevant photograph. |
